JNTU B.Tech I Year BASIC ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING Previous Question Paper (August - 2018 - R16)

B.Tech | I Year | II Semester | R16 | August - 2018

Answer PaperPaper Code: 132AJMaximum Marks: 75Time: 3 hours

Part A is compulsory which carries 25 marks. Answer all questions in Part A. Part B consists of 5 Units. Answer any one full question from each unit. Each question carries 10 marks and may have a, b, c as sub questions.

PART A

125 marks
a
Write the VI relationship for R, L, C elements.
2 marks

Answer

The VI relationships are: For Resistor (R), v = iR. For Inductor (L), v = L(di/dt). For Capacitor (C), i = C(dv/dt).

b
Draw wave forms for voltage, current, power for a pure capacitance when excited by a sinusoidal voltage.
3 marks

Answer

For a pure capacitor, the current leads the voltage by 90 degrees. The voltage waveform is a sine wave, the current waveform is a cosine wave, and the power waveform is a sine wave oscillating at twice the frequency of the supply with zero average value.

c
State super position theorem.
