JNTU B.Tech IV LAUNCH VEHICLE AND MISSILE TECHNOLOGY Previous Question Paper (May - 2019 - R15)
Note: This question paper contains two parts A and B. Part A is compulsory which carries 25 marks. Answer all questions in Part A. Part B consists of 5 Units. Answer any one full question from each unit. Each question carries 10 marks.
Part A
Answer all questions.
Define mission profile.
Answer
A mission profile is a chronological sequence of events, phases, and maneuvers that a launch vehicle or missile must perform from launch to the completion of its intended objective, including ascent, staging, trajectory adjustments, and payload deployment.
Define propulsive efficiency and overall efficiency of a jet engine along with its mathematical equation.
Answer
Propulsive efficiency (ηₚ) is the ratio of the useful propulsive power to the total kinetic energy added to the exhaust stream. Overall efficiency (ηₒ) is the ratio of the propulsive power to the rate of energy input from the fuel.
Where u is flight velocity, vₑ is exhaust velocity, T is thrust, ṁf is fuel mass flow rate, and Qᵣ is fuel heating value.
