JAWAHARLAL NEHRU TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY HYDERABAD B.Tech II Year FLUID MECHANICS AND OPEN CHANNEL HYDRAULICS Previous Question Paper (April/May - 2018 - R13)
Note: This question paper contains two parts A and B. Part A is compulsory which carries 25 marks. Answer all questions in Part A. Part B consists of 5 Units. Answer any one full question from each unit.
PART - A
Discuss the classification of fluids.
Answer
Fluids are classified into five main types based on their behavior under shear stress: Ideal fluids (incompressible and zero viscosity), Real fluids (possess viscosity), Newtonian fluids (obey Newton's law of viscosity), Non-Newtonian fluids (do not obey Newton's law), and Ideal plastic fluids (shear stress is more than yield value and proportional to velocity gradient).
Distinguish between Eularian and Legrangian approach.
Answer
In the Lagrangian approach, the focus is on the motion of an individual fluid particle as it moves through space and time. In the Eulerian approach, the focus is on a fixed point in space where the velocity, pressure, and density of the fluid passing through that point are observed over time.
