JNTU B.Tech II ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING Previous Question Paper (February-2024 - R15)
Note: i) Question paper consists of Part A, Part B. ii) Part A is compulsory, which carries 25 marks. In Part A, answer all questions. iii) In Part B, Answer any one question from each unit. Each question carries 10 marks and may have a, b as sub questions.
Part A
What is a linear element?
Answer
A linear element is an electrical component whose parameters (resistance, inductance, or capacitance) do not change with the voltage across it or the current flowing through it. Such elements obey Ohm's law and the principle of superposition, meaning the relationship between voltage and current is represented by a straight line passing through the origin.
Determine the resultant inductance when two inductances are connected in series high aiding and opposing.
Answer
When two inductances L1 and L2 with mutual inductance M are connected in series:
- Series Aiding: The total inductance is Leq = L1 + L2 + 2M.
- Series Opposing: The total inductance is Leq = L1 + L2 - 2M.
