Note: i) Question paper consists of Part A, Part B.
ii) Part A is compulsory, which carries 25 marks. In Part A, Answer all questions.
iii) In Part B, Answer any one question from each unit. Each question carries 10 marks and may have a, b as sub questions.
Part A
Outline the introduction of robotics.
Answer
Robotics is the interdisciplinary branch of engineering and science that includes mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, and others, for the design, construction, operation, and use of robots. It aims to create machines that can perform tasks traditionally done by humans, often in hazardous, repetitive, or high-precision environments.
Define accuracy and repeatability.
Answer
Accuracy is the ability of a robot to position its end-effector at a specified target point in space, measured by the difference between the commanded position and the actual achieved position. Repeatability is the robot's ability to return to the same previously taught position over multiple attempts, measured by the statistical variation or dispersion of the achieved positions.
