JNTU B.Tech I Year BASIC ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING Previous Question Paper (December - 2017 - R16)
Part A is compulsory which carries 25 marks. Answer all questions in Part A. Part B consists of 5 Units. Answer any one full question from each unit. Each question carries 10 marks.
Part A
Define unilateral and bilateral elements.
Answer
A unilateral element is one whose V-I characteristics depend on the direction of current flow (e.g., a diode). A bilateral element is one whose V-I characteristics are the same regardless of the direction of current flow (e.g., a resistor).
Differentiate Independent and Dependent sources.
Answer
An independent source provides a fixed voltage or current regardless of the circuit conditions. A dependent source provides a voltage or current that is controlled by another voltage or current existing elsewhere in the circuit.
