JAWAHARLAL NEHRU TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY HYDERABAD B.Tech II FORMAL LANGUAGES AND AUTOMATA THEORY Previous Question Paper (December - 2017 - R15)
Note: This question paper contains two parts A and B. Part A is compulsory which carries 25 marks. Answer all questions in Part A. Part B consists of 5 Units. Answer any one full question from each unit. Each question carries 10 marks.
Part A
Define Transition diagram.
Answer
A transition diagram is a directed graph representation of a finite automaton. Nodes represent states, and directed edges labeled with input symbols represent transitions between states. The start state is indicated by an incoming arrow, and final states are represented by double circles.
Explain about ε-closure().
Answer
The ε-closure(q) is the set of all states reachable from state q using only ε-transitions (transitions that do not consume any input symbol). It includes the state q itself and all states reachable through a sequence of one or more ε-moves.
