What is self-exploration? Explain its content and the process?
Answer
Self-exploration is the process of finding out what is valuable to oneself by investigating one's own life and aspirations. It is a dialogue between 'what I am' and 'what I really want to be'.
The content of self-exploration consists of identifying one's basic human aspirations (happiness and prosperity) and understanding the harmony at all levels of existence: the individual, family, society, and nature.
The process of self-exploration involves two main steps:
- Natural Acceptance: Checking if a proposal is naturally acceptable to you, independent of external beliefs or conditionings.
- Experiential Validation: Living according to the proposal in real-life situations to see if it leads to mutual happiness and prosperity.
Describe how experimental validation can be used as a mechanism for self-exploration?
Answer
Experimental validation acts as the practical verification of the proposals discovered through self-exploration. It ensures that the understanding gained is not merely theoretical but applicable to daily life.
The mechanism functions through the following stages:
- Verification of Proposals: When a proposal is presented, one first checks it against their natural acceptance.
- Application in Behavior and Work: The individual attempts to live by this understanding in their interactions with other human beings (behavior) and their engagement with the rest of nature (work).
- Observation of Results: One observes the outcome of these actions. If the action leads to harmony, mutual happiness, and mutual prosperity, the proposal is validated as true. If it leads to contradiction, unhappiness, or conflict, the proposal is re-examined.
- Refinement: This iterative process helps in correcting misconceptions and deepening the understanding of universal human values, eventually leading to a state of continuous harmony.
By consistently applying these principles, an individual moves from a state of assumption to a state of realization, making the knowledge an integral part of their character.
With the help of case studies explain the understanding and living in harmony at various levels.
