JNTU B.Tech III GEO INFORMATICS Previous Question Paper (July 2023 - R16)
Question paper consists of Part A, Part B. Part A is compulsory, which carries 25 marks. In Part A, Answer all questions. In Part B, Answer any one question from each unit. Each question carries 10 marks and may have a, b as sub questions.
Part A
What lens is best for aerial photography and why?
Answer
A wide-angle lens (typically 90 degrees field of view) is preferred for aerial photography. It is chosen because it provides a larger ground coverage per frame, which minimizes the total number of photographs required to cover a specific area while maintaining sufficient detail for mapping purposes.
How many minimum numbers of photographs are required for Stereo Photogrammetry and why?
Answer
A minimum of two overlapping photographs (a stereo pair) is required. This is necessary to create a 3D perception of the terrain, as the human brain requires two slightly different perspectives of the same object to perceive depth through parallax.
