Answer PaperPaper Code: 183AUMaximum Marks: 60Time: 3 Hours

Note: This question paper contains two parts A and B.

i) Part- A for 10 marks, ii) Part - B for 50 marks.

Part-A is a compulsory question which consists of ten sub-questions from all units carrying equal marks.

Part-B consists of ten questions (numbered from 2 to 11) carrying 10 marks each. From each unit, each unit, there are two questions and the student should answer one of them. Hence, the student should answer five questions from Part-B.

Part A

110 marks
a

State Coulumb’s Law and mention its limitations.

1 marks

Answer

Coulomb's Law states that the force between two point charges is directly proportional to the product of the magnitudes of the charges and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them. It acts along the line joining the charges. Its limitations are that it is applicable only for point charges, static charges, and in linear, isotropic media.

b

Define electric dipole.

1 marks

Answer

An electric dipole consists of two equal and opposite point charges separated by a small distance.

c

Differentiate between conductors and insulators.
