JNTU B.Tech II ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELDS Previous Question Paper (April/May - 2018 - R16)
Note: This question paper contains two parts A and B. Part A is compulsory which carries 25 marks. Answer all questions in Part A. Part B consists of 5 Units. Answer any one full question from each unit.
Part A
Answer
Electric field intensity (E) is the force experienced by a unit positive test charge placed at a point in an electric field. Electric potential (V) is the work done in moving a unit positive charge from infinity to a specific point against the electric field. The relationship is given by E = -∇V, meaning the electric field is the negative gradient of the electric potential.
Answer
Boundary conditions are the set of mathematical requirements that describe the behavior of electric and magnetic fields at the interface between two different media. They are useful because they allow us to determine how fields change or remain continuous when crossing from one material to another, enabling the solution of complex electromagnetic problems by matching field components at the boundary.
