Answer any five questions. All questions carry equal marks.
Main
Discuss various categories of computing environments.
Answer
Computing environments represent the various settings in which software and hardware interact to perform tasks. The primary categories are:
- Personal Computing: Designed for individual use, such as desktops, laptops, and tablets. These systems provide a dedicated interface for a single user to run local applications.
- Client-Server Computing: A distributed architecture where a client machine requests services or resources from a central server. The server manages data, security, and resource allocation, while the client handles user interaction.
- Distributed Computing: A system where components are spread across multiple networked computers. These systems communicate and coordinate actions to achieve a common goal, providing scalability and fault tolerance.
- Cloud Computing: An on-demand delivery of computing services (servers, storage, databases) over the internet. It offers flexibility and cost-efficiency through virtualization and shared resources.
- Embedded Computing: Systems integrated into larger mechanical or electrical devices (e.g., microcontrollers in washing machines or automotive systems) to perform specific, dedicated functions.
Draw a flow chart to check whether the given number is perfect number or not.
Answer
A perfect number is a positive integer that is equal to the sum of its proper positive divisors, excluding the number itself. The flow chart logic is as follows:
- Start.
- Input a number, n.
- Initialize sum = 0 and i = 1.
- Check if i < n. If true, proceed to step 5; else, go to step 8.
- Check if n % i == 0. If true, set sum = sum + i.
- Increment i = i + 1.
- Go back to step 4.
- Compare sum == n. If true, print 'Perfect Number'; else, print 'Not a Perfect Number'.
- Stop.
