Process variables are the physical or chemical properties of a process that need to be measured and controlled to maintain desired operating conditions. Common examples include temperature, pressure, flow rate, level, pH, and composition.
What is meant by the interacting systems? And mention examples.
Answer
Interacting systems occur when the output of one process stage affects the input of the preceding stage, such that the dynamics of the combined system cannot be described by the simple product of individual transfer functions. Examples include a series of two or more liquid level tanks where the flow from the second tank depends on the head in the first tank, or a multi-stage heat exchanger.
