The common types of ports in a PC include Serial ports (COM), Parallel ports (LPT), Universal Serial Bus (USB), PS/2 ports, VGA/HDMI ports, and Ethernet (RJ-45) ports.
What do you mean by PCI bus? How does it differ from ISA bus?
Answer
The PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) bus is a high-speed computer bus used for attaching hardware devices to a motherboard. It differs from the older ISA (Industry Standard Architecture) bus in that PCI is a 32-bit or 64-bit bus with higher data transfer rates, supports plug-and-play configuration, and utilizes bus mastering, whereas ISA is an 8-bit or 16-bit bus with significantly lower bandwidth and manual configuration requirements.
