JAWAHARLAL NEHRU TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY HYDERABAD B.Tech IV SATELLITE COMMUNICATIONS Previous Question Paper (July - 2019 - R15)
Note: This question paper contains two parts A and B. Part A is compulsory which carries 25 marks. Answer all questions in Part A. Part B consists of 5 Units. Answer any one full question from each unit. Each question carries 10 marks and may have a, b, c as sub questions.
PART - A
Mention the future trends in satellite communication system.
Answer
Future trends include the deployment of High Throughput Satellites (HTS), the rise of mega-constellations in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) for global low-latency internet, integration with 5G and 6G terrestrial networks, and the use of optical inter-satellite laser links for high-speed data transmission.
Define Geo stationary and Non Geo-Stationary Orbits.
Answer
Geostationary Orbit (GEO) is a circular orbit 35,786 km above the Earth's equator where a satellite appears stationary relative to a fixed point on the ground. Non-Geostationary Orbit (NGSO) refers to any orbit that is not geostationary, such as Low Earth Orbit (LEO) or Medium Earth Orbit (MEO), where the satellite moves relative to the Earth's surface.
