They also allow for interoperability between different hardware and software vendors by standardizing interfaces between layers, and they facilitate easier troubleshooting and maintenance through independent layer functionality.
Mention the comparison of fiber optics and copper wire.
Answer
Fiber optics offer significantly higher bandwidth and lower signal attenuation compared to copper wire. Additionally, fiber is immune to electromagnetic interference (EMI) and crosstalk, whereas copper is susceptible to these issues. However, copper wire is generally cheaper to install and easier to terminate.
