Answer
The Divergence Theorem states that the surface integral of a vector field F over a closed surface S is equal to the volume integral of the divergence of F over the volume V enclosed by S:
Answer
The direction of maximum increase is given by the gradient ∇φ. Given φ = xy²z³, the gradient is ∇φ = (y²z³)i + (2xyz³)j + (3xy²z²)k. At (-1, 2, 2):
The magnitude is |∇φ| = √(32² + (-32)² + (-48)²) = √(1024 + 1024 + 2304) = √4352 = 8√68 = 16√17.
