JAWAHARLAL NEHRU TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY HYDERABAD B.Tech III REMOTE SENSING AND GIS Previous Question Paper (February - 2023 - R16)
Note: i) Question paper consists of Part A, Part B.
ii) Part A is compulsory, which carries 25 marks. In Part A, Answer all questions.
iii) In Part B, Answer any one question from each unit. Each question carries 10 marks and may have a, b as sub questions.
Part A
Define Scale in Aerial photograph.
Answer
Scale in an aerial photograph is defined as the ratio of a distance measured on the photograph to the corresponding ground distance. It is typically expressed as a representative fraction, such as 1:f/H, where f is the focal length of the camera and H is the flying height above the terrain.
Demonstrate Height measurement of vertical photograph.
Answer
Height measurement on a vertical photograph is determined using the concept of relief displacement. The formula is h = (d * H) / r, where h is the object height, d is the relief displacement measured on the photograph from the principal point to the top of the object, H is the flying height above the base of the object, and r is the radial distance from the principal point to the top of the object.
