JAWAHARLAL NEHRU TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY HYDERABAD B.Tech I Year INTRODUCTION TO MINE SURVEYING Previous Question Paper (January/February - 2024 - R22)
Note: This question paper contains two parts A and B. i) Part- A for 10 marks, ii) Part - B for 50 marks. Part-A is a compulsory question which consists of ten sub-questions from all units carrying equal marks. Part-B consists of ten questions (numbered from 2 to 11) carrying 10 marks each. From each unit, there are two questions and the student should answer one of them. Hence, the student should answer five questions from Part-B.
Part A
What is the purpose of reconnaissance survey?
Answer
The purpose of a reconnaissance survey is to perform a preliminary, rapid inspection of an area to gather general information about the terrain, identify potential obstacles, and determine the feasibility of a project before conducting detailed surveying.
What is offset survey?
Answer
An offset survey is a method of locating the position of objects or features relative to a main survey line by measuring perpendicular distances (offsets) from the line to the points of interest.
