JAWAHARLAL NEHRU TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY HYDERABAD B. Pharmacy I Year PHARMACEUTICAL ANALYSIS-I Previous Question Paper (September/October - 2023 - R17)
i) Question paper consists of Part A, Part B. ii) Part A is compulsory, which carries 25 marks. In Part A, answer all questions. iii) In Part B, Answer any one question from each unit. Each question carries 10 marks and may have a, b as sub questions.
PART - A
Mention the primary standard, indicator and end point for standardization of 0.1 M Sodium thiosulphate solution.
Answer
The primary standard used is Potassium iodate (or Potassium dichromate). The indicator employed is Starch solution, and the end point is marked by the disappearance of the blue color (or the transition from blue to colorless).
Mention the rules for rounding off significant figures.
Answer
- If the digit to be dropped is less than 5, the preceding digit remains unchanged.
- If the digit to be dropped is greater than 5, the preceding digit is increased by 1.
- If the digit to be dropped is exactly 5, the preceding digit is rounded to the nearest even number.
