Prokaryotes are unicellular organisms lacking a membrane-bound nucleus and organelles (e.g., bacteria). Eukaryotes possess a distinct nucleus enclosed by a nuclear membrane and complex membrane-bound organelles like mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum (e.g., fungi, protozoa, plants, and animals).
Growth curve.
Answer
The growth curve represents the population growth of microorganisms in a closed system over time. It consists of four distinct phases: the lag phase (adaptation period), log phase (exponential growth), stationary phase (growth rate equals death rate due to nutrient depletion), and decline/death phase (population decrease).
