B.Tech | III | I | R16 | March - 2024

Answer PaperPaper Code: 135CDMaximum Marks: 75Time: 3 Hours

Note: i) Question paper consists of Part A, Part B. ii) Part A is compulsory, which carries 25 marks. In Part A, Answer all questions. iii) In Part B, Answer any one question from each unit. Each question carries 10 marks and may have a, b as sub questions.

Part A

125 marks
a

Define Fidelity.

2 marks

Answer

Fidelity is the ability of an instrument to reproduce the changes in the input signal faithfully without any dynamic error. It represents the degree to which the output waveform is an exact replica of the input waveform.

b

Outline the precautions to be considered while using Ammeters and Voltmeters.

3 marks

Answer

  • Ammeters must always be connected in series with the load and should have very low internal resistance to minimize loading effects.
  • Voltmeters must always be connected in parallel with the component being measured and should have very high internal resistance to avoid drawing significant current.
  • Always ensure the polarity is correct for DC measurements and check that the range selected is higher than the expected value to prevent meter damage.
c

Compare the function of Oscillator and Signal Generator.
