JNTU B.Tech III PRINCIPLES OF ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS Previous Question Paper (January/February - 2023 - R16)
Note: i) Question paper consists of Part A, Part B.
ii) Part A is compulsory, which carries 25 marks. In Part A, Answer all questions.
iii) In Part B, Answer any one question from each unit. Each question carries 10 marks and may have a, b as sub questions.
Part A
Define the term modulation and give the classification of analog modulation techniques.
Answer
Modulation is the process of varying one or more properties of a periodic waveform, called the carrier signal, with a modulating signal that contains information to be transmitted. Analog modulation techniques are classified into Amplitude Modulation (AM), Frequency Modulation (FM), and Phase Modulation (PM).
Define the terms Channel Bandwidth and Signal Bandwidth.
Answer
Signal Bandwidth is the range of frequencies occupied by the signal itself, defined as the difference between the upper and lower frequency components of the signal. Channel Bandwidth is the maximum frequency range that a communication channel can support for the transmission of data without significant distortion.
