Answer PaperPaper Code: 123BWMaximum Marks: 75Time: 3 hours

Note: i) Question paper consists of Part A, Part B. ii) Part A is compulsory, which carries 25 marks. In Part A, Answer all questions. iii) In Part B, Answer any one question from each unit. Each question carries 10 marks and may have a, b as sub questions.

Part A

125 marks
a

Differentiate between circuit and network.

2 marks

Answer

A circuit is a closed conducting path through which an electric current flows, containing at least one energy source. A network is a more general term referring to any interconnection of electrical elements, which may or may not form a closed path and may or may not contain an energy source.

b

Draw current relationship for inductor fed by RAMP voltage.

3 marks

Answer

For an inductor fed by a ramp voltage v(t) = kt, the current is given by the integral of voltage: i(t) = (1/L) ∫ kt dt = (k/2L)t2. The current relationship is parabolic, starting from zero and increasing quadratically with time.

c
