JNTU B.Tech III COMPUTER GRAPHICS Previous Question Paper (January/February - 2023 - R16)
Note: i) Question paper consists of Part A, Part B. ii) Part A is compulsory, which carries 25 marks. In Part A, Answer all questions. iii) In Part B, Answer any one question from each unit. Each question carries 10 marks and may have a, b as sub questions.
Part A
How does video display work?
Answer
Video display works by converting digital information into visual signals. In raster-scan systems, an electron beam sweeps across a phosphor-coated screen line by line, with intensity modulated to create images, while modern flat-panel displays use liquid crystals or LEDs to control light transmission at individual pixel locations based on a frame buffer.
Explain the architecture of a raster-graphics system with a display processor.
Answer
A raster-graphics system with a display processor (or graphics controller) offloads tasks from the main CPU. The system architecture consists of a system memory, a display processor, and a frame buffer. The display processor retrieves graphics commands from the system memory, converts them into pixel values, and stores them in the frame buffer, which then refreshes the display device independently of the main CPU.
