Type conversion is the process of converting a value of one data type into another. It is categorized into two types: Implicit conversion (automatic), performed by the compiler when compatible types are mixed, such as assigning an integer to a float; and Explicit conversion (type casting), where the programmer manually forces a conversion using the cast operator.
In this example, the integer x is explicitly cast to a float to ensure floating-point division occurs instead of integer truncation.
