JNTU MCA SEMANTIC WEB AND SOCIAL NETWORKS Previous Question Paper (December - 2019 - R17)
Note: This question paper contains two parts A and B. Part A is compulsory which carries 25 marks. Answer all questions in Part A. Part B consists of 5 Units. Answer any one full question from each unit. Each question carries 10 marks and may have a, b, c as sub questions.
Part A
What are the limitations of today’s web?
Answer
The current web is primarily designed for human consumption rather than machine processing. Its limitations include: 1) Lack of machine-understandable semantics, making it difficult for software agents to interpret content; 2) Information overload, as the vast amount of unstructured data makes precise retrieval challenging; 3) Limited interoperability, as data is often trapped in silos with incompatible formats; and 4) Lack of automated reasoning, preventing systems from inferring new knowledge from existing data.
Illustrate the parts of an RDF document.
Answer
An RDF document is composed of the following parts: 1) Subject: The resource being described (e.g., a URI); 2) Predicate: The property or relationship being defined (e.g., 'hasAuthor'); 3) Object: The value or target of the relationship (e.g., a literal or another URI). Together, these form a triple, which is the fundamental unit of RDF data representation.
