JNTU B.Pharmacy II PHYSICAL PHARMACEUTICS-II Previous Question Paper (December-2019 - R17)
Note: This question paper contains two parts A and B. Part A is compulsory which carries 25 marks. Answer all questions in Part A. Part B consists of 5 Units. Answer any one full question from each unit. Each question carries 10 marks and may have a, b, c as sub questions.
PART- A
Give units of basic rate constant in a second order reaction.
Answer
The units for the rate constant (k) of a second-order reaction are L mol-1 min-1 or M-1 min-1 (or time-1 concentration-1).
Initial concentration of a drug is 60 and it undergoes first order degradation with a k value 0.035 per minute. Find out the concentration of drug after 15 days.
Answer
The first-order degradation formula is C = C0 e-kt. Given C0 = 60, k = 0.035 min-1, and t = 15 days = 21,600 minutes:
Since the exponent is extremely large, the concentration C approaches zero, indicating the drug has fully degraded.
Differentiate between Newtonian and non-Newtonian systems.
