JNTU B.Tech II AIRCRAFT PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY Previous Question Paper (May/June - 2019 - R16)
Note: This question paper contains two parts A and B. Part A is compulsory which carries 25 marks. Answer all questions in Part A. Part B consists of 5 Units. Answer any one full question from each unit.
Part A
Briefly explain about Die casting.
Answer
Die casting is a metal casting process that involves forcing molten metal under high pressure into a mold cavity, known as a die. The die is created using two hardened tool steel dies that have been machined into shape and work similarly to an injection mold.
Discuss the difference between soldering and welding.
Answer
Welding involves melting the base metals together, often with a filler material, to create a strong, permanent bond. Soldering, conversely, involves melting only a filler metal (solder) with a lower melting point than the base materials, which remain solid, creating a bond primarily for electrical or sealing purposes rather than structural strength.
