JNTU B.Tech III COMPUTER ORGANIZATION Previous Question Paper (July/August - 2023 - R16)
Note: i) Question paper consists of Part A, Part B. ii) Part A is compulsory, which carries 25 marks. In Part A, Answer all questions. iii) In Part B, Answer any one question from each unit. Each question carries 10 marks and may have a, b as sub questions.
Part A
Differentiate microprocessor and microprogram.
Answer
A microprocessor is a physical hardware component (CPU) that executes instructions. A microprogram is a sequence of microinstructions stored in the control unit's control memory that defines the control signals for executing machine-level instructions.
Give an example for unconditional branch.
Answer
An unconditional branch instruction transfers control to a specified address regardless of any status flag conditions. An example is the JMP instruction in x86 assembly, such as JMP label_name.

Write a program to move the contents of a memory location 0500H to register BX and to CX. Add immediate byte 05H to the data residing in memory location, whose address is computed using DS=2000H and offset=0600H. Store the result of the addition in segment specified by the data segment register DS which contains 2000H. Design a flow chart for the same.
