JNTU B.Tech III ELECTROMAGNETIC THEORY AND TRANSMISSION LINES Previous Question Paper (August/September - 2024 - R16)
Part A is compulsory (25 marks). In Part B, answer any one question from each unit (50 marks). Each question in Part B carries 10 marks.
Part A
State Divergence theorem.
Answer
The divergence theorem states that the outward flux of a vector field A through a closed surface S is equal to the volume integral of the divergence of A over the volume V enclosed by the surface:
Mention the differences between scalar and vector magnetic potentials.
Answer
Scalar magnetic potential (Vm) is defined for current-free regions (J=0) where H = -∇Vm, whereas vector magnetic potential (A) is defined for any region where B = ∇ × A. Scalar potential is a single-valued function only in simply connected regions, while vector potential is universally applicable and satisfies the Poisson equation.
If the flux flowing through closed surface is 3 nc. What is the total charge enclosed by that surface?
