Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad B.Tech II TRANSDUCERS ENGINEERING Previous Question Paper (May/June - 2019 - R16)
Note: This question paper contains two parts A and B. Part A is compulsory which carries 25 marks. Answer all questions in Part A. Part B consists of 5 Units. Answer any one full question from each unit. Each question carries 10 marks and may have a, b, c as sub questions.
Part A
What is sensor and mention its need in measurement system?
Answer
A sensor is a physical device that detects changes in a physical quantity and produces a corresponding output, typically an electrical signal. It is essential in a measurement system to convert non-electrical physical parameters (like temperature, pressure, or light) into a measurable form that can be processed, displayed, or controlled by instrumentation.
List various Voltage and Resistance standards.
Answer
Voltage standards include the Weston Standard Cell and the Josephson Junction (quantum voltage standard). Resistance standards include the Thomas-type standard resistor (typically made of Manganin wire) and the Quantum Hall Resistance standard.
