What is surface tension and write its expression.
Answer
Surface tension is the tensile force acting on the surface of a liquid in contact with a gas or on the interface between two immiscible liquids, such that the contact surface behaves like a membrane under tension. It is defined as the force per unit length.
Define kinematic viscosity. How it varies with temperature?
Answer
Kinematic viscosity is defined as the ratio of dynamic viscosity to the density of the fluid. For liquids, kinematic viscosity decreases as temperature increases due to a decrease in cohesive forces. For gases, kinematic viscosity increases as temperature increases because the dynamic viscosity increases significantly with temperature.
