JAWAHARLAL NEHRU TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY HYDERABAD MCA 2017 OBJECT ORIENTED ANALYSIS AND DESIGN USING UML Previous Question Paper (August - 2017 - R15)
Note: This question paper contains two parts A and B. Part A is compulsory which carries 25 marks. Answer all questions in Part A. Part B consists of 5 Units. Answer any one full question from each unit. Each question carries 10 marks and may have a, b, c as sub questions.
Part A
What are principles of modeling? Explain.
Answer
The principles of modeling are fundamental guidelines that ensure models are effective, useful, and maintainable. They include: 1) The choice of models influences how a problem is attacked and how a solution is shaped. 2) Every model may be expressed at different levels of precision. 3) The best models are connected to reality. 4) No single model is sufficient; every non-trivial system is best approached through a small set of nearly independent models. 5) A model should be as simple as possible but no simpler.
Explain about modeling simple collaborations.
Answer
Modeling simple collaborations involves representing how a set of objects work together to carry out a specific behavior. This is typically achieved using Interaction Diagrams (Sequence or Communication diagrams). To model a simple collaboration: 1) Identify the objects involved in the interaction. 2) Define the messages passed between them to trigger operations. 3) Specify the sequence of these messages to show the flow of control. 4) Use collaboration roles to define the structural context in which the objects interact.
