What is the purpose of Level translator in op amp?

The primary purpose of a level translator in an operational amplifier is to shift the DC voltage level of the signal back to zero volts (ground potential) at the output. Since op-amps often use direct-coupled differential amplifier stages, the DC level shifts cumulatively at each stage; the level translator ensures that when the input signal is zero, the final output voltage is also zero, preventing unwanted DC offset at the output.

A practical operational amplifier is represented by an equivalent circuit that accounts for finite input impedance, non-zero output impedance, and finite open-loop gain. The circuit consists of an input stage and an output stage.
The input stage features a differential input resistance Ri connected between the inverting and non-inverting input terminals. The voltage across this resistance is the difference between the input voltages, vd = v2 - v1.
The output stage is modeled as a voltage-controlled voltage source with a value of Avvd, where Av is the open-loop voltage gain. This source is in series with an output resistance Ro, which connects to the output terminal.
