JNTU MCA V Semester MULTIMEDIA AND RICH INTERNET APPLICATIONS Previous Question Paper (April/May - 2019 - R15)

Part A
Define multimedia and Hypermedia and write the applications of multimedia.

Multimedia is the integration of multiple forms of media, such as text, graphics, audio, video, and animation, into a single interactive presentation. Hypermedia is an extension of multimedia that uses hyperlinks to connect different media elements, allowing non-linear navigation through information. Applications of multimedia include education (e-learning), entertainment (video games and movies), business (presentations and video conferencing), and medical imaging.
Write about PAL and SECAM Video.
Answer
PAL (Phase Alternating Line) is a color encoding system used in television broadcasting in many parts of the world, including Europe and Asia. It operates at 50Hz and 625 lines, correcting hue errors by alternating the phase of the color signal on each line. SECAM (Séquentiel Couleur à Mémoire) is a French-developed color television system that transmits color information sequentially line by line. It is known for its robustness against signal distortion and was historically used in France, Russia, and parts of Africa.
