JAWAHARLAL NEHRU TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY HYDERABAD B.Pharmacy I PHARMACEUTICAL ANALYSIS-I Previous Question Paper (June-2019 - R17)
Part A is compulsory which carries 25 marks. Answer all questions in Part A. Part B consists of 5 Units. Answer any one full question from each unit. Each question carries 10 marks.
PART- A
Define the terms precision and accuracy.
Answer
Accuracy refers to the closeness of a measured value to the true or accepted value. Precision refers to the closeness of agreement between a set of replicate measurements obtained from the same sample under the same conditions.
Explain the preparation and standardization of 250 ml of 0.1M sodium hydroxide solution.
Answer
To prepare 250 ml of 0.1M NaOH, dissolve 1g of NaOH pellets in distilled water and dilute to 250 ml. Standardize by titrating against a primary standard, such as potassium hydrogen phthalate (KHP), using phenolphthalein as an indicator until a faint pink color persists.
