JNTU B.Pharmacy II PHARMACEUTICAL MICROBIOLOGY Previous Question Paper (December-2019 - R17)
Part A is compulsory which carries 25 marks. Answer all questions in Part A. Part B consists of 5 Units. Answer any one full question from each unit. Each question carries 10 marks and may have a, b as sub questions.
Part A
Explain how to differentiate a Prokaryote from an Eukaryote.
Answer
Prokaryotes lack a membrane-bound nucleus and membrane-bound organelles (like mitochondria), whereas eukaryotes possess a true nucleus enclosed by a nuclear membrane and contain specialized membrane-bound organelles.
Describe the light source in Electron microscope.
Answer
The light source in an electron microscope is an electron gun, which generates a high-energy beam of electrons by heating a tungsten filament or using field emission. This beam acts as the illumination source, replacing visible light to achieve much higher resolution due to the shorter wavelength of electrons.
