Answer PaperPaper Code: 115ECMaximum Marks: 75Time: 3 hours

Note: This question paper contains two parts A and B. Part A is compulsory which carries 25 marks. Answer all questions in Part A. Part B consists of 5 Units. Answer any one full question from each unit.

Part A

125 marks
a

Define differential amplifier.

2 marks

Answer

A differential amplifier is an electronic amplifier that amplifies the difference between two input voltages while suppressing any voltage common to both inputs.

b

What is CMRR?

3 marks

Answer

CMRR (Common Mode Rejection Ratio) is the ratio of the differential voltage gain to the common-mode voltage gain. It is a measure of an amplifier's ability to reject common-mode signals, typically expressed in decibels (dB) as

CMRR = 20 log(|A_d| / |A_c|)
where A_d is differential gain and A_c is common-mode gain.

c

Draw the Schmitt trigger block diagram.
